Steps to stop SPAM getting in your email.

If you're anything like me, you probably loathe getting bombarded by spam.

Here are a few simple general rules to try and help you avoid getting SPAM from marketers or internet sites.
  1. Have separate email addresses. Do not use your primary or work email to register on websites. Create a Gmail, Outlook.com or Yahoo mail account, and use this instead. This will help ensure that you only receive relevant email to your primary account. Keep the spare email account for the 'fluff' stuff such as registering for competitions, or surveys, or sales etc.
  2. Do not provide your primary or work email address on competition forms or dockets in shopping centres, this follows rule 1.
  3. Only give your primary email address to people whom you trust or need to urgently liaise with.
  4. Ensure you always have a good reliable anti-virus and/or anti-spam software to stop your computer from being maliciously hacked or hijacked. A majority of spam come from innocent users whose computers have been hijacked by malicious software. This is usually the reason some of the spam you receive may appear to come from your friends or colleagues, or from email addresses that you are familiar with.
Follow these rules and it will help you lessen the amount of SPAM getting into your inbox.

Why a dual SIMmobile phone? The answer is varied for this one. There are many reasons why people have more than one mobile device. Some use it to juggle their girl/boy friends around, having different numbers for each. Some like to have a full on data SIM only device where they can Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, Netflix and web all they want. But carrying two devices can be a drag. So here's where a dual SIM mobile phone comes in handy. For me it's simple...
I've been carrying two mobile phones around for ages, one for business use, the other for personal. It just made so much more sense to carry one instead of two devices.
Where to get dual SIM phones in Australia and where NOT to get them. So for the last few days, I've been on the hunt for a dual SIM phone here in Perth, West…

Windows 8 Store Not Working - Here's how to fix it.

Windows 8 Store for the most part will work without an issue, however, there are times when an app that is being installed may be stuck or if you lost connection during the middle of an install, the installation may become corrupted. So, how do you fix this...

Microsoft are obviously aware that there is an issue here and they provided an APP troubleshooter to the effect...

Go to the Microsoft page "What to do if you have problems with an App" and run through the troubleshooting process. If all else fails, at the bottom of the page there is a link to "APPS TROUBLESHOOTER". Download the program and run it. It will find and fix what it can and will normally end with a restart of the PC and a fixed Windows Store.

Update: since writing the last entry, more methods have surfaced on how to get the Windows 8 Store back up and running...

Method 2.
Open an administrative Windows Command Prompt (right click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator"…
